With many hauliers now enjoying the significant benefits of the pioneering Guardian Load Restraint System, developed by Loadhog, the Sheffield-based logistics innovator, its sales effort has been boosted with the appointment of another representative to ‘spread the good news’ to hauliers in the Midlands, the South West and Wales.

Birkenhead-born Philip Whitby, 50 joins the employee-owned, multi award-winning company after latterly performing the same role at the tyre service provider, ATS Euromaster, prior to which he was contract manager at two other companies. In his new role Philip will work from his home in Telford where he lives with his family.

Launched in 2014, Guardian was designed to comply with updated HSE and DVSA safety legislation and guidelines regarding load restraint on curtain sided vehicles. Guardian sales in other areas of the UK are going well, supported by the appointment in 2015 of another sales representative who also focusses on Northern England and Scotland.

Philip said: “I am excited about working for an enterprising company which is growing and developing new products all the time. The fact that Loadhog is an employee-owned business is what attracted me initially, knowing that everybody has a role to play in its future.”

Guardian bridges the gap between non-compliant roof straps and time- consuming ratchet straps on curtain-sided vehicles. It comprises a roof suspended rave-to-rave strapping system which prevents the load from moving. Overall more cost effective than precursor products, Guardian is operated from the ground with no need for drivers to climb onto the vehicle platform or blindly throw strapping over the load, as they would with a standard ratchet strap, making the system safer, easier and quicker.
